We invite you and your organisation to attend Unite the Resistance meeting. The trade union movement faces one of it’s biggest challenges. The government’s austerity plans are bringing swingeing cuts to pensions, jobs and public services.

History was made on 26th March when over half a million people joined the TUC demonstration against cuts. As PCS General Secretary Mark Serwotka said ‘we have marched against austerity, now lets strike against austerity’.

Four unions, ATL, NUT, PCS and UCU are organising for coordinated strike action which should take place 30th of June. It is possible that other groups of workers may join the day of action.

We the undersigned are a group of trade union activists in NUT, PCS and UCU who want to bring together trade unionists and activists to make sure 30th June is as big as possible and to share our organising experiences and discuss where we go after June.

Mark Serwotka, Tony Benn, Kevin Courtney, Zita Holbourne and Barry Lovejoy will be speaking at the meeting.

We are inviting you to attend, support and encourage others to attend whether you are a trade union activist, part of an anti cuts campaign group or a concerned individual.

If you, your branch, your region or your organisation would like to sponsor the meeting please contact;

Sean Vernell, City and Islington College, 444 Camden Road, N7, 0SP

Please let us know about any planned activities on 30th June.

In Solidarity

Sue Bond PCS Vice President
Dave Harvey, NUT NEC
Zita Holbourne, PCS NEC
Alex Kenny, NUT NEC
Liz Lawrence, UCU NEC
Gavin Reid, UCU NEC
Sean Vernell, UCU NEC
